The UCLA Division of Digestive Diseases sponsors, attends, and/or participates in numerous events during the course of every year.

UCLA GI Week 2016

The UCLA Division of Digestive Diseases is dedicated to its mission of advancing scientific knowledge and understanding of digestive disorders. Through discoveries in our laboratories and their translation to novel diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, we make improvements in care that are relieving suffering and enhancing quality of life for patients all over the world. To be truly success in this aspect of our mission, we must fulfill another critical calling - education of the researchers and clinicians of tomorrow and today. With that in mind, the UCLA Division of Digestive Diseases is proud to offer two major education programs back to back - what we refer to as UCLA GI Week.

4th Annual UCLA-Mellinkoff Gastroenterology and Hepatology Symposium

Location: The Beverly Hilton, Beverly Hills, CA
Overview: The 4th Annual UCLA-Mellinkoff Gastroenterology and Hepatology Symposium was designed to offer healthcare professionals practical approaches to treatment challenges that can be readily integrated into their daily practice. Faculty will present, through formal lectures, Q&A and illustrative cases, new and emerging diagnostic techniques and therapeutics in caring for those with gastrointestinal diseases. The hands-on session will provide a valuable learning opportunity, though no CME credit will be issued for this portion of the program.
Accreditation: The Office of Continuing Medical Education, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The Office of Continuing Medical Education, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA designates this live activity for a maximum of 17.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 12511, for 9 contact hours of C.E. for Day 1, 7 contact hours for Day 2 and 4.5 contact hours for day 3.

According to the criteria of the American Board of Certification for Gastroenterology Nurses (ABCGN), 19.5 hours earned in this activity are considered GI specific for the purpose of recertification by contact hours through the ABCGN.
